Upton & Severn Stoke Schools of Tae Kwon-Do

The Upton-Upon-Severn Club is run by Mr David Clark and is a friendly, family oriented club ideal for adults and children alike and welcomes students of all abilities. Mr Clark first trained in Tae Kwon-Do in the late 80s and early 90s with Master Don Atkins, Master Rayle Gayle and Master Mark Ogbourne, but had to give up due to career commitments. He then took up fell-running and coached rugby for several years. He re-started Tae Kwon-Do in 2015 with his son, daughter, nephew and niece, and re-kindled his passion for the art under the guidance of Mrs Laura McEwan-Hill, 4th Dan. Over the next few years he won multiple medals in both patterns and sparring and was WMST senior male competitor of the year in 2017 and 2018.

Mr Clark believes that training in Tae Kwon-Do benefits the student in multiple ways, such as building confidence, discipline and focus for children and in developing all-round fitness and improved health, both physically and mentally in adults, through the combination of traditional and modern training methods. He strives to bring out the best in every one of his students, regardless of ability.
